Get Ready With Me - Em Rusciano Is NOT A Diva!

Get Ready With Me - Em Rusciano Is NOT A Diva! | Cate Renée

For a while now I have been in love with Em Rusciano, an infectious and hilarious Australian comic who's Facebook page and "Woiyne Toiyme" videos are enough alone to make you a fan. Her bright, bubbly and outgoing personality is an equal match for her glitzy, glam and slightly outrageous costumes which make this occasion more than appropriate to get a little dressed up! Always keeping it real and telling it like it is, Em has brought her show "Em Rusciano Is NOT A Diva" back to Perth as part of the Perth Comedy Festival, and I just managed to score some tickets! Follow me around this afternoon while I get myself ready for what could possibly be was the best night of my life.

BEAUTY
I wanted to keep my makeup relatively toned down and classic, going with a neutral eye and feline flick with a pinky nude lip. For my base I wanted to keep it super light starting with Max Factor's Facefinity All Day Primer along with the L'Oreal True Match Foundation in Golden Ivory and a touch of the Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer in Ivory to create an even colour with medium coverage. Then I've gently swiped over my T-zone with Rimmel's Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Translucent and applied some of the The Body Shop's Honey Bronzing Powder in 01 Light Matte to give my cheeks a natural tan. Moving onto eyes, my base colour I've popped all over the lid is Nudie and Cashmere Bunny from the Too Faced Natural Eyes palette and then on with MAC's Naked Lunch throughout the middle to add some shimmer. I then added some black liquid liner to create a feline flick and a coat or two of Maybelline's Lash Sensational mascara to finish. Lastly for those pinky nude lips I've gone with a mix of L'Oreal Erotique and MAC Blankety. Hair wise I'm keeping it beyond simple and have gone with a volumised blow out and loose waves to perfectly compliment the outfit and makeup. And for nails I went with this gorgeous glitzy shade in Angels Nails from Max Factor and L'Oreal's You Are Worth It for my toes, making for a polished yet understated mani/pedi.

OUTFIT
Since the event was more of a smart casual affair I paired this beautiful burgundy lace blouse from Valleygirl with my beloved Forever New high-waisted jeans, and for shoes I've gone with these simple black strappy heels. My small black clutch bag is from Colette and perfectly fits in all the essentials, including my lipstick and phone.

The show was bloody incredible and by the end my stomach had grown a six-pack from the non-stop laughter! It can't go without a mention Em's amazing voice which filled the room with life when she whipped out her Madonna and John Farnham medleys. I can't wait to see what Em brings out in the future but I know for sure I'll be sat there at the next show here in Perth.
